India is the land of the colorful multicultural diversity and the impact of this diversity is quite visible on this Festival as well , though the core essence and the key rituals have remain unchanged.

Karwa Chauth has gained much of the popularity through the Bollywood and TV presentation. It has almost turned up as the Indian form of Valentines day and the reason that why this festival is a hot favourite of the cinema and TV soaps directors are its quite romantic rituals , for example.

1. Keeping the fast for  husbands with out food and some time without even water. Now a days many men also keep this fast for their wives.

2.All the ladies get the chance of redecorating themselves as a bride by wearing the bright bridal makeup with heavy jewellery , fine bridal dress and also henna on hands.

3.Waiting for the moon in the evening to break the fast.

4.Looking at the moon and then to husband before breaking the fast.

5. Having the first morsel  of food from the husband's hand

8. Getting some gift from the husband.

7. And then having the dinner with family and friends.

Many time women celebrate this day in a group which of course give them a chance to display their new dress and jewellery among friends.

Above all the other materialistic aspects, this fast surely represent the love and concern for the life partner. It makes their love , commitment and devotion  towards each other more strong.
